Cloud Networking
Cloud networking refers to the system of interconnected networks and services that enable cloud computing. In the cloud, computing resources are hosted in large data centers and delivered over the internet or private networks. Cloud networking provides the connectivity and communication between cloud service providers, cloud platforms, and end users.
Some key aspects of cloud networking include software-defined networking (SDN), network virtualization, load balancing, IP addressing, and virtual private clouds (VPCs). SDN separates the network control plane from underlying infrastructure to enable programmable, dynamic networks. Network virtualization abstracts physical networks into logical networks that can be provisioned on-demand. Load balancers distribute traffic across servers and data centers to optimize performance. Elastic IP addresses allow resources to scale up/down while maintaining a static public IP. VPCs extend private networks into the cloud over an encrypted connection. Overall, cloud networking aims to provide the flexible, scalable connectivity needed to maximize the benefits of cloud computing. Common use cases include bursting workloads to the cloud, disaster recovery, data storage/backup, SaaS applications, and more.
